Program Abstract

Vehicle-related incidents are the #2 killer of firefighters and #1 killer of EMTs. Many factors that contribute to these crashes are within the control of emergency services personnel, specifically in the crew’s eyes, ears, hands, and minds. Safer driving is possible and will save lives. This module presents the organizational measures and safe driving practices that address the root causes of emergency vehicle crashes to reduce their incidence and empower drivers, operators, and chauffeurs to be safety leaders on their shifts.
